About GirlScript

GirlScript is a non-profit organization that encourages diversity in technical education by providing reservations for women and underrepresented groups in society.It started as a project but eventually gained enormous momentum to become India's First and Biggest Technical Community.

Our reach spreads across 64 cities in India and 4 international chapters within 4.5 years only. Furthermore, GirlScript has impacted the lives of over 65000+ students.We aim to not only help establish gender equality in the technical domains but also revolutionize the lives of the individuals who wish to learn and develop in tech.

About GWOC

GirlScript Winter of Contributing is a three-month newly established initiative by GirlScript Foundation to be conducted during winters. GWOC encourages individuals to share their knowledge and ideas to develop technical skills and gain valuable experience in the field of tech education. Over the course of the program, participants can contribute to a variety of themes under the guidance of an expert facilitator.

Whether you're a newbie or a seasoned pro, GirlScript Winter of Contributing will give you a taste of what it's like to contribute to a content repository. Supervisiors

Supervisors are experts in the Open Source project on which the team is currently working.At the commencement of the program, they will provide project roadmap, and will also be available to evaluate pull requests,assist with concepts,encourage the team throughout the program. Mentors

Mentors will offer assistance to the contributors. They will be available to contribute to Github,assist contributors in creating content, answer questions, manage the subject repository, and provide generally assistance to contributors throughout the winter. How Does It Work?

The entire programme is divided into three primary contribution sections, with each contributor responsible for submitting their work under the supervision of supervisors who are in charge of making valid github commits.

Each person is free to participate in whatever way they see fit. They can help in any of the following three ways: Documentation, Audio and Video. Special prizes would be given for the multilingual category Video editors will be assigned to each team to edit the video and audio.

Documentation

Video

  • 1. Animations,screen-recordings,presentations and regular explanatory films are all possibilties
  • 2. Video length should not exceed more than 25 min
  • 3. Presentable and Clear
  • 4. Accepted via Google drive link

Audio

  • 1. Should be in mp3 format
  • 2. Includes speech clarity,concise ,low distortion
  • 3. Presentation can also be submitted along with audio[Optional]
  • 4. Accepted via Google drive

Yes, absolutely. The organization's goal is to help newcomers advance in the area of technology. We'll have sub-tasks ideal for both novices and award winners, ensuring that each and every contributor learns something new from the topics to which he or she contributes.

No, there are no fees associated with participation. It is completely free of charge.

No, there is no upper age limit for GWoC participants. It is open to everyone.

The digital certificate will be distributed to all deserving contributors. The reward money will be deposited into all of the top contributor's bank accounts. After the event, we'll send you an email with the bank account information.

In the first week of January, the results will be announced.

There are no such requirements that the content repository must meet. Mentors and Admins can suggest a proposal in any sector in which they have specific knowledge.
